Covid-19: Bank of Industry donates N20million support for pallatives in Kano

The Bank of Industry (BOI) has donated N20 million to support palliative arrangement for the downtrodden in Kano State.
The state’s Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba said the donation was made to Fund Raising Committee on COVID-19 saddled with the responsibility of gathering the donations for further distribution to the less-privileged in the state to cushion the effect of lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Giving updates on the activities of the committee in a statement, Garba indicated that another donation of one million Naira was received from the Executive Vice Chairman, Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Danbatta and another Five Hundred Thousand Naira from the family of Alhaji Mukhtar Adnan, Sarkin Bai.

Other donors, he said, include Tsanyawa Local Government Fund Raising Committee, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kano state chapter N500, 000.00 each; Futma Universal Concept Limited N162, 000.00; Alhaji Hamisu Dankaka N100, 000.00.
Garba also announced a donation of the sum of N1, 515, 000.00 Dawaki community, Dawakin Kudu local government area of the state.
The commissioner, however, urged organizations and well-to-do individuals within and outside the state to donate generously towards the committee set up to seek and collect donations in cash or kind and distribute same to those in need so as to cushion the harsh effect of the measures being taken by government against the spread of Covid-19 in Kano.
